AMD FPGA (Xilinx) Zynq-7000 In Stock

Zynq-7000 SoC with dual Arm Cortex-A9 cores and 85,000 logic cells in a 400-ball package.

The XC7Z020-1CLG400C is an AMD Zynq-7000 SoC that combines a dual-core Arm Cortex-A9 processor system with 85,000 logic cells, 4,900 Kb of block RAM and 220 DSP slices in a 400-ball package. Zynq-7000 was introduced by Xilinx, now part of AMD, to put a full processor and programmable logic on one die, so software and hardware functions can share memory and logic without a separate chip and a high-speed link between them. The Arm cores run a full operating system such as Linux, while the FPGA fabric handles real-time interfacing, hardware acceleration and custom peripherals. The 85K-cell fabric is large enough for image pipelines, motor-control logic, protocol bridges and DSP data paths, and the DSP slices accelerate filters and transforms. Zynq-7000 supports DDR3 memory, Gigabit Ethernet, USB and a wide range of industrial interfaces through the processor system and the programmable I/O. The CLG400 package balances I/O count and board area. Every device is factory-traceable and ships with an import declaration, a certificate of origin and RoHS documentation. Designers should plan the processor boot, the memory interface and the fabric partition before layout. BeiLuo holds this part in regional stock and our FAE team supports processor bring-up, fabric partition and I/O timing.

FAE Professional Review

Zynq-7000 is the part we recommend when a design needs both a Linux-class processor and custom logic on a compact board. The hard Arm cores handle networking, storage and application software, while the fabric does the latency-critical work, and the two share coherent memory. The main engineering tasks are the boot strategy and the partition between software and hardware, so bring those decisions forward.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which operating system can the Zynq-7000 run?

The dual Cortex-A9 cores run Linux and a range of real-time operating systems, with PetaLinux and the Vitis toolchain providing a supported software flow.

The fabric can implement hard real-time functions alongside the operating system.

How do I partition software and hardware?

Keep latency-critical and high-throughput loops in the fabric and leave networking, storage and application logic on the Arm cores, using shared memory for the boundary.

This keeps the software simple and the hardware focused.
