Overview

Data centers are being reshaped by two forces at once: the demand for denser compute at lower power, and the rapid growth of AI workloads that need both host processors and accelerators. AMD addresses both with a portfolio that scales from the EPYC server processor to the Radeon PRO and Instinct accelerators, all connected by the PCIe 5.0 and Infinity Fabric interconnects. BeiLuo supplies these parts as an authorized AMD distributor and supports customers through platform selection, memory and thermal planning, and deployment.

The EPYC Server Platform

The EPYC 9004 series, code-named Genoa, is built on the Zen 4 architecture and provides up to 96 cores per socket together with twelve channels of DDR5 memory and full PCIe 5.0 connectivity. A single socket therefore offers the cores, memory bandwidth and I/O lanes that previously required a two-socket system, which reduces the cost, power and footprint of a server platform. The large L3 cache and high memory bandwidth help data-intensive workloads such as in-memory databases, analytics and software-defined storage, while the high core count suits dense virtualization. Because the platform spans a range of core counts, a single board design can be scaled across tiers.

Memory and I/O Planning

Memory bandwidth is often the limiter for analytics and virtualization, so populate the memory channels evenly and choose DIMM capacities that reach the bandwidth the workload needs. The PCIe 5.0 lanes connect NVMe storage and accelerators at high bandwidth, and the platform exposes enough lanes to keep storage and GPUs from competing for the same bandwidth.

AI and GPU Acceleration

For AI workloads, the Radeon PRO and Instinct accelerators combine large frame buffers with the Matrix Core engine, and the ROCm open software stack supports common frameworks. The Radeon PRO W7900 carries 48 GB of ECC memory, which is enough for large models and engineering datasets and is certified for professional applications. Multiple accelerators share the Infinity Fabric coherent interconnect so data can move efficiently between host and device. The combination of EPYC host processors and Radeon accelerators lets a customer build a node that serves both traditional and AI workloads.

Thermal and Power

High core counts and accelerators raise the thermal and power density of a node. The 360 W EPYC 9654 and multi-hundred-watt accelerators need server-class heatsinks and airflow, so plan the chassis, power supply and cooling as one system rather than checking them at the end. BeiLuo's FAE team can review the thermal budget and help match the platform to your rack constraints.

Deployment and Supply

Because server platforms are usually deployed in volume, availability and documentation matter as much as raw performance. BeiLuo supports allocation planning against your forecast and ships every part with import, origin and RoHS documentation so customs and audits move smoothly. Customers consolidating FPGA, CPU, GPU and embedded purchases with one distributor also simplify billing and compliance across the account.

Next Steps

Send your workload specification and we will propose a processor, accelerator and memory configuration, confirm availability and lead time, and supply samples for validation before you commit to production.
